Linking Let's Think and CAME to the National Curriculum
primary
There are many and strong links between the strands of the National Numeracy Strategy and Let’s Think and PCAME lessons. The resource below has been written to enable primary teachers to plan CA lessons into their curriculum so that they match the National Numeracy Strategy thematically and in terms of challenge. Schools often use these lessons either at the beginning or at the end of a unit of work to assess children’s understanding of a particular topic or to identify their skill level:

The process skills that are part of the new secondary curriculum are also an important part of the new Secondary Framework. A number of schools have deployed CAME lessons in their scheme of work as a way of introducing a new topic while also involving many of the process skills. The resource below shows some of these links. Some secondary CAME (LINK) lessons can appropriately be used with more than one part of the strategy; in that case they are listed more than once. It will be important to check that the CAME lessons are spread out through the year, so this may help decide which lesson is used at different points in the scheme of work.
