What's special about CA courses?
It is helping me to learn alongside the children in an open environment where the questioning and challenging of ideas is encouraged (and celebrated). I am learning to respond more effectively to children's ideas during the lesson.
The CAME approach not only has an impact on the mathematical thinking and reasoning of pupils, but also on the professional development of teachers. CAME professional development programmes are specifically designed to transform the teaching and learning of mathematics, and can also have a positive impact on quality of teaching and learning across other curriculum areas. The programmes normally comprise 10-12 full-days over one or two years, and are based on exemplar lessons, classroom practise and organised reflection. All course participants who attend the full two year course receive a certificate of completion.
